FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
THE INSIDE CONNECTION MUSIC MAGAZINE FOUNDER AND FORMER KOCH LABEL MANAGER ANNOUNCE NEW VENTURE
New York, NY - September 4, 2007: The Inside Connection music magazine founder Joann Gullo and former KOCH Progressive label manager Scott Kuchler have announced the launch of a new joint venture, to be known as A&R Unlimited, Inc. The company - which will incorporate elements of A&R consultation, concert promotion, internet marketing along with all other aspects of marketing and promotion, will launch on November 1, 2007.
Says Gullo; "The entire architecture of the music industry is changing drastically with the development of new technologies, and we see a role for a new kind of company that will help shepherd independent artists through the new landscape." Kuchler is equally enthusiastic; "More and more artists are finding it possible to produce their own music, and have taken quite a bit of initiative in promoting their recordings and live shows through resources like MySpace, YouTube, and CD Baby, but very few of them have the experience to know how to put together a marketing plan and maximize their impressions in the marketplace.” Both Gullo and Kuchler agree “there is still a need for industry people who know the pipelines to help these artists make the most of these opportunities, and what we hope to do is help make some connections that will benefit these artists.”
Gullo, who will assume the position of CEO for A&R Unlimited, Inc., got her start in the industry working radio promotions and was later promoted to Vice President of A&R for Eagle Eye Entertainment. After years of consulting and seeking talent for various major record labels, she founded The Inside Connection music magazine in 1997, serving as Publisher while building it up to a national entity with distribution of over 65,000 issues each month. Through her career she has worked with the likes of Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Sugar Ray, Usher, Garth Brooks, Korn, My Chemical Romance, Pearl Jam, Destiny’s Child, The Killers, Maroon 5, plus many other notable artists.
Kuchler, who will serve as President of the new company, was hired by KOCH International after interning on "The Howard Stern Show." By the end of his 5 year tenure at KOCH he had worked his way up to the position of Label Manager for the Progressive division in which he worked with such artists as Carole King, Ringo Starr, Bill Wyman, Dave Davies, The Smithereens, Arlo Guthrie and Sir Bob Geldof among others.
A&R Unlimited, Inc. will maintain offices in New York, and will launch with a release party in the form of an A&R showcase in the new year.
